Standardized Tank Markings
'A Uniform for the 6th Armored Division'

Here is the standardized "uniform" I've come up with for A Company of the 15th Tank Battalion. This design may look simple but it isn't. It needed to conform to the following criteria in order to be adopted.

• It could only use two decals (the maximum free players get).
• It had to fit on our tank turrets, preferably the rear.
• It could only use decals available to most players at UST3.
• It had to attract attention and stand out in the smoke of battle.
• The chosen design had to have meaning.

After careful consideration, I'm confident that I've come up with the perfect emblem to grace our turrets—"Red Diamond Six".

Squadron Tank Markings

I've been noticing that several squads have adopted a standardized decal scheme for their tanks. This evening I took notice of one from the -Dutch- Squadron. I was impressed.

Their display of a standard marking scheme along with their tag, identified them as being a part of a team, working together, to achieve victory. This display of unity also aids in establishing our reputation and enhances recruiting efforts. I think we would benefit from displaying a squad "logo" as well.

Here are a few examples of what other squads have been doing.

We Got Mechs!
We Don't Need No Stinkin' Tanks!

This screenshot was from April 1st, 2015—known in the USA as 'April Fools Day.' Mechs invaded Eastern Europe and we had a blast with them!

15th Tank Battalion "Wolfpack" in Action

If the game allowed for more decal options and custom skins for squads, this is what I would hope our tanks would look like. To see the tanks in squad attire, a screen capture was edited in Photoshop. This is the result.

War Thunder Battle Ambience Slideshow

simple War Thunder slideshow with some battle ambience audio.  I made this to use the combat sounds as an audio background for the site.  That's what you're hearing now.
The control to stop the audio is at the top of the page.
